Big Top 2.0 Review

Thursday night, we held our 2nd Tech Jobs Under the Big Top event at Bay 7 in Durham from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

For those who are not aware, this is a reverse job fair where 12 local tech companies get to pitch to an audience of potential job seekers. After the pitches, there is a job networking session until he end of the night. The first event in May brought 250 registrants and another 270 on a wait list. 11 of 15 companies made new hires within 45 days and several made more than 1 new hire. 75% of the companies generated 5-10 leads to follow up on.

Those are great stats, but as importantly, we continued to shine a bright light on the software scene here in the Triangle.

The one spotlight we need more help with is exposure into companies, geographies, schools, etc. to target individuals who are still not aware of the opportunities that exist in this early-stage area.

Please help me evangelize this event to those potential “superstars” and lets get them exposed to these companies.
