Job summary

The Red Hat Benefits team is looking for a Benefits Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will support a variety of U.S benefits programs, including healthcare, retirement, and wellness. You will deliver on reporting and compliance requirements, complete benefit surveys, respond to escalated benefit inquiries, and contribute ideas for process improvement and benefit enhancements. We'll need you to have an excellent understanding of our benefit programs, be engaged with timelines, and be customer focused.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Partner with our benefits administrator to support Affordable Care Act and other required compliance reporting prior to mandated deadlines
  • Complete annual Health and Welfare Nondiscrimination testing and 5500 filings
  • Regularly audit calls to benefits administrator to ensure program success and resolve discrepancies on error reports
  • Participate in and support open enrollment planning and delivery
  • Create benefits administrator metrics to measure program success
  • Support payroll processes with our benefits administrator to ensure accurate benefit deductions
  • Assist with 401(k) Nondiscrimination testing and 401(k) audits; calculate the annual true up and facilitate the funding process to associate’s accounts
  • Support annual wellness fairs and other wellness activities throughout the year
  • Complete Compliance filings as required
  • Assist with creating process documents
  • Support benefits communication and associate enablement
  • Submit benefit surveys
  • Maintain our benefits intranet pages ensuring they are up to date with benefits changes; partner with our Employment Branding and Communications team to ensure pages are designed to educate our associates on our benefits programs
  • Handle invoicing processes for all benefits programs to ensure timely payment to our vendors Support benefits discount programs

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years of benefits experience; Nondiscrimination testing and 5500 filing experience a plus
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; the ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work closely with program managers to understand and implement program and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to obtain problem resolution
  • Consistent action on delivery in a fast paced environment
  • Comfortable operating in an open environment where transparency and constant feedback is expected
